When it comes to finding the best keywords for your app, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. However, there are a few things you can do to ensure that you find the most effective keywords for your specific app and audience.
1. Do your research
Before you even start thinking about which keywords to target, it’s important to do your research and understand your app and audience inside out. This will help you identify the most relevant and valuable keywords for your app.
2. Use keyword tools
There are a number of great keyword research tools available that can help you find the most effective keywords for your app. Some of our favourites include Google AdWords Keyword Planner, App Annie and Sensor Tower.
3. Think like your user
When you’re brainstorming keywords, it’s important to think like your target user. What terms would they use when searching for an app like yours? What are they looking to achieve by using your app?
4. Prioritise long-tail keywords
Long-tail keywords (keywords that are more specific and targeted) tend to be more effective than short-tail keywords (broad, general terms). This is because they are less competitive and more likely to result in conversions.
5. Target localised keywords
If your app is targeted at a specific geographical location, make sure to target localised keywords accordingly. This could involve including the name of the city, state or country in your keyword list. For example, “restaurant finder NYC” or “travel guide Paris”.
