There are many ways to get visitors to our site but in this article we are going to talk about five free methods of getting targeted traffic.
There are quicker ways to get traffic than what I am about to tell you but unless you have a big budget you might want to consider some free methods.
I don’t have any brand spanking new, ground breaking, secret formula methods to tell you about and you will no doubt have heard of all of them, but here I will try to explain why they are so good.
Besides, all the top marketers use these methods to some degree, whether they actually create the content themselves or outsource it, they still like the tried and tested methods and that is because they work.
- Article Marketing – As you are reading this I probably don’t have to explain the power of article marketing. Unfortunately article marketing has taken a bit of flak recently and in my opinion it is because of the amount of garbage and spun content out there. We all know that creating unique content is harder than spinning a few articles here and there but be warned; soon you won’t be able to copy anything without getting penalised. So the best way is to create the content yourself. It can be time consuming but overall the rewards will outweigh the drawbacks. Create good unique content with a link back to your site. Who could resist following it?
- Forum Marketing – Another potential method that takes some time to do, but unless you get carried away you can spend no more than half hour per day and still get targeted visitors to your site. Just find one or two forums in your niche that allows you to add a signature. Make sure the forums are well used with plenty of active members, join in and answer questions, ask your own questions and soon people will follow the link in your signature back to your site. It is doubtful you will get tons of traffic from forums but the traffic you get is highly targeted to your offer.
- Blog Commenting – Don’t be shy, just find some blogs that are in your niche. Ones that allow you to put a link to your site. Leave some good relevant comments and you will get people following your link and if not at least you have a backlink. When commenting if you just say “Great post” or “That’s just what I have been looking for” or something meaningless you might as well not bother. Try offering some useful comments and the site owner could be your next visitor with some kind comments for you. What goes around comes around!
- Link Exchanges – By approaching other blog owners that are either in your niche or a closely related one, you can get relevant backlinks to your site. Most blog owners will be only too happy to comply as it also means a backlink for them. As your blog becomes more popular you will find that other site owners will approach you.
- Press Releases – Publishing a great press release can result in massive increases in your visitor stats. How to write a great press release is an art in itself and one that you will need to master for your press release to be successful. Generally, you would write your press release in the third person. There are many free press release sites and many paid ones. You will need to ensure that they allow a link from your press release to your site so people can find what you are offering.
There are many more free ways to get targeted traffic to our sites but just by using the five methods discussed here your traffic can increase dramatically. Unfortunately, it is not a set it and forget it system and you will need to put some effort in on a regular basis for it to work.
