PHP REST API From Scratch
In this article, we will be creating a REST API from scratch using PHP. We will be using a MySQL database to store our data, and we will be using the cURL library to make our API calls.
First, we will create a MySQL database and table to store our data. We will call our database “api_database”, and our table will be called “users”. The table will have the following fields:
id
username
password
First, we will create a PHP file to connect to our database. We will call this file “db.php”.
Next, we will create a PHP file to create our REST API. We will call this file “api.php”.
connect();
$users = mysql_query(“SELECT * FROM users”);
foreach ($users as $row) {
$api->addUser($row);
}
mysql_close($conn);
?>
Now, we will create our “addUser” function. This function will add a new user to our database.
addUserToDatabase($id, $username, $password, $email);
}
?>
Now, we will create our “addUserToDatabase” function. This function will add a new user to our database.
