If you’re running a membership site, then you’ll want to make sure that your site is as visible as possible in search engine results pages (SERPs).
One of the best ways to achieve this is by optimizing your site for search engine visibility using the Yoast SEO plugin. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to set up Yoast SEO for your membership site.

Once the plugin is installed, you’ll need to configure it. Navigate to SEO > General in the WordPress admin area.
Under the ‘Features’ tab, make sure that the ‘Advanced settings pages’ and ‘ XML sitemaps ‘ options are enabled.
Next, you’ll need to configure the plugin for your membership site. Under the ‘Webmaster Tools’ tab, make sure that you add your site to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
You’ll also need to add your site’s XML sitemap to both Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. To generate an XML sitemap for your membership site, you can use the Yoast SEO plugin.
To generate an XML sitemap for your membership site, navigate to SEO > XML Sitemaps in the WordPress admin area.
The Yoast SEO plugin will automatically generate an XML sitemap for your site. Simply click the ‘XML Sitemaps’ tab and then click the ‘Generate XML sitemap’ button.
The XML sitemap will be generated and you can then copy the URL and add it to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
