There are several methods to use in order to track your advertising results. So here are just a few that you can use right away.

1) Use separate landing pages. Drive traffic to a specific page for each advertising method. This will take more time to make more pages, but copy and paste is a good thing. Setting up a new page for each advertising source allows you to track visits and conversion from each source separately.

2) Analytics. Whether you use Google Analytics or some other form of statistics software, learn how to read the data you get from it. Learn how a visit is different then a page view. Once you start driving traffic you will need to know what kind of traffic is hitting your pages.

3) Test and tweak. Continue to test and tweak your ads. Test different placements, different ad copy, various headlines, and any other aspect. Keep track of the resulting changes. If the test increases traffic and conversions keep the change. If not, go back and try again.

4) Keep what works, dump what does not. If you have been placing adds to a single place for a month and have not gotten any hits, either test your ad copy, or get rid of it. This way you can concentrate your hard earned dollars on advertising that converts.
