Why would you part-out a motorcycle for profit? Millions of motorcycles are broken each year. That number will only rise as oil and gas prices continue to rise. Why? A bike is the cheapest ride (and thrill) in town.

The most common used parts on eBay or craigslist will bring you $40 when you do your marketing right. That same part, purchased at a motorcycle retailer will cost $60 to $120. The KEY is in this – you can beat the pants off the dealer, tomorrow! So you buy a bike in a backyard for $50, and ONE PART makes you that much – what’s that called? Opportunity, don’t you think? Not bad money in a bad economy, is it?

If you don’t think bikes break, just look on eBay – why in the world are all those parts there? Motorcycles are slippery little devils too… it’s so easy to watch one “fly” down the freeway and out of your hands and into the guard the rail. A little bloody to talk about but it’s the truth. One little lay-down and you’re are looking at a bunch of connected parts, period – true?

Because Motorcycle Wrecking Yards want to make the Maximum Buck: they’ll charge an arm and a leg to hand over the a greasy, dirty nasty part to you. This is important, because it means the local supplier is no competition for you, working from home. The dealer is no competition. The local bike wrecking yard is no competition. Who’s your competition? Nobody! I sold my parts on eBay and made friends and steady customers in Finland, Sweden, Germany, England – the world!

Once you’ve learned the basics, you’ll know what parts are in demand, and which parts you should scrap. Get a website with hosting, do some advertising, and get going! You CAN make $50,000 or more, your first year parting motorcycles, IF you get started right. Once you learn the basics, you may want to become a dealer and sell whole bikes too. In fact, you can make $100k your first year if you know what you’re doing and really go for it.

Parting bikes is not for everyone.

1. Get great training, by finding a parter to teach you.

2. Learn marketing specific to the industry. Marketing is at least 75% of any business.

3. Keep learning new bikes as new bikes come along. Your business will rocket skyward!
