The thing about making money online is that there are so many ways to do it. You can start a blog, open an Etsy shop, take surveys- the list goes on and on. But one of the most popular ways to make money online is through YouTube. And you can do it without even having to create your own videos!
There are two ways to make money through YouTube without creating your own videos: being a YouTube Partner or using Google Adsense. We’ll go over both methods so you can decide which one is best for you.
Being a YouTube Partner
YouTube Partners are YouTube users who have been invited to join the partnership program by YouTube. In order to become a Partner, your account must comply with certain criteria and you must agree to the Partner Program Terms. Some countries have different eligibility requirements for becoming a Partner, so make sure to check the requirements for your country before applying.
Once you’re accepted into the program, you’ll be able to monetize your videos with ads and access other features that Partners get, like custom thumbnails and access to exclusive events.
To apply to become a Partner, log in to your YouTube account and go to your channel’s Monetization page. From there, you’ll be able to start the application process. Google will then review your channel to see if it meets their criteria for being a Partner.
Using Google Adsense
If you’re not eligible for or don’t want to be a YouTube Partner, don’t worry- you can still make money from your videos! All you need is a Google Adsense account. Adsense is a program run by Google that allows website and YouTube channel owners to place ads on their content and earn money from clicks or impressions. It’s really simple to set up and use, and it’s totally free.
To set up Adsense for your YouTube channel, log in to your account and go to your channel’s Monetization page. From there, click on “Enable My Account” under “Monetization Options” and follow the instructions. Once you’ve enabled monetization, ads will start appearing on your videos and you’ll earn money based on how much traffic your videos get. The great thing about Adsense is that you don’t need thousands of views to start making money- even if your videos only get a few hundred views, you can still make some decent cash!
