The service sector accounts for about 47% of GDP and employs about 30% of the workforce. The main services are transportation, telecommunications, banking, insurance, and tourism.
Remittances from Nepalese working abroad account for more than 32% of GDP. Nepal has a large number of migrant workers in countries such as India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
The Nepalese rupee (NPR) is the currency of Nepal. The Nepalese rupee is pegged to the Indian rupee at a rate of 1 NPR = 0.65 INR.

English is also widely understood due to its use in education[9] .
