As the SEO manager at JourneyEngine, I want to share our B2B SAAS SEO strategy and full organic growth case study. Our company specializes in software that helps businesses automate their customer journey.

We started from scratch with no money for paid ads and relying solely on inbound marketing and SEO to grow our business. It’s been a long and difficult journey, but we’ve managed to organically grow our website traffic by over 1,600% in just two years.

I’ll take you through our entire journey so you can learn from our successes and failures. Hopefully, this case study will give you some insights into how you can grow your own B2B SAAS company organically.

First, a bit of backstory…

JourneyEngine was founded in early 2017 by three co-founders. I won’t get into too many details about our product here, but essentially, it’s software that helps businesses automate their customer journeys. We have a freemium model with a paid subscription for more advanced features.

Before JourneyEngine, I worked in the digital marketing agency world for about 10 years. I’ve worked with big brands like Coca-Cola, BMW, Microsoft, and many others on their digital marketing campaigns. However, I always wanted to start my own company. So when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped at the chance to co-found JourneyEngine.

I was responsible for all things marketing at JourneyEngine from the very beginning. And as the only marketing person on the team, I had my work cut out for me. Not only did I have to build an entire marketing infrastructure from scratch (including our website), but I also had to generate leads and customers with no budget for paid ads. It was a daunting task, but I was up for the challenge.

The first thing I did was create a solid SEO foundation for our website so that we could start ranking in Google search results and getting organic traffic from day one. This is an essential step for any new website because it gives you a long-term sustainable source of traffic that will continue to grow as you scale your business. And it’s especially important for B2B SAAS companies because organic search is one of the main ways that people discover new SaaS products (according to Hubspot).
