For every business owner, the ultimate goal of marketing is to get more customers. There is more than one way to do it though. You can tell your site visitor to buy it or leave it, or you can build business asset by building your list. You want the latter, and here’s how you can do it.

1. Write quality articles.
When I mean articles, I mean a lot of them. Article marketing is a numbers game. As you write more articles, you will get more traffic. That is just how the strategy works.

Giving quality information is important though because you want to keep the readers to the end of your article.

2. Strong offer and call to action
The resource box is a place you make a strong offer and call to action to invite the readers to click and go to your site. Although you can sell your product directly in it, you want to hold it much later though.

Remember that we are concentrating to build your list. Having the readers to take offer that involves no money usually results in more responses.

3. Have them register
A cost effective but valuable tool to give to the readers is special report on something pertinent to the topic you’re writing. Only give the download link in exchange for their name and email address.

4. Alternatively offer your product
You can make a special offer at this stage to turn new subscribers into first level customers. A certain portion of the subscribers will take that offer but even if they don’t, you can follow up with them later after you engage in further relationships with them.

Make the offer special and available only during the subscription process. That’s a trick to convert more of them into customers.

5. Take good care of your list
Don’t just sell to them. People tend to forget that the prospects at the other end are also human beings. Treat them well, build those relationships.

Once you have built the trust factor, you are ready to sell or recommend products to them. Don’t blatantly promote any product that can make you money. You can ruin the relationship overnight. Be responsible to them and only give them the best, and they are your customers forever.
