But with all of the moving parts, it can be tough to keep track of everything we need to do to make our campaigns successful. That’s why we’ve put together this handy little checklist we call “The Hitch Effect.”

1) Know Your Target Audience

This one seems like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many businesses don’t really know who their target audience is. Spend some time thinking about who your ideal customer is and what they’re looking for. Once you have a good handle on that, you can start creating ads that are tailored to them.

2) Set Clear Goals

Before you even start creating your ad, you need to know what you want it to achieve. Do you want more website visitors? More social media followers? More sales? Once you know your goal, you can tailor your ad strategy accordingly.

3) Make Sure Your Ad Is Relevant

Your ad should be relevant to both your target audience and your goals. If it’s not, people will tune it out and it will be a wasted opportunity. For example, if you’re selling car parts, an ad about the latest Hollywood gossip is not going to do much for you. But an ad about a new line of car parts designed for a specific make and model might just get the attention of your target audience.
