In this article I am going to talk about using content marketing for generating traffic. Content marketing is basically using content that you or someone else has created and submitting it to your own or someone else’s website to generate traffic. If you submit it to someone else’s website then you are averaging the traffic that their particular site is getting and therefore increasing the visibility of your content.
Here are 5 steps to using content marketing effectively:
Find related websites
First of all find a related website that is generating a lot of visitors. You can do this by going to Google and doing a search for a particular keyword in your niche.
Have a look at the websites and see which ones get a lot of traffic. These are the sites that would be good for you to add content to.
See if you can add content there
Have a look at the site and see if there is a way that you can add your own content or at least build a presence on that website.
You might be able to add a guest post, or if it is a blog begin to add comments to the site.
Email and ask
If there is no obvious way for you to add your own content then email the website owner and see if they would be willing for you to add an article to their website. You will need to make sure that you have some material available to offer so that the website owner can see the quality of your work.
Start commenting if possible
If the website is a blog or a forum then you will be able to start blog commenting or adding posts. This is a great way to increase your visibility online and to demonstrate your own knowledge.
You can do this by adding helpful information and by being seen as someone who knows their particular topic well.
Get involved
Whatever sites that you find that are related to your own topic you need to find some way to get involved. This might be by guest posting, blog commenting, adding a video, adding comments on a You Tube video, etc.
Try to think of all the ways that you are able to naturally build a presence on these sites and you will begin to see traffic being generated back to your own website or squeeze page.
