You could be having the most beautiful sites in the world, with never-seen-before content, great web design etc, however, if the website is not well optimized, no one will ever have a look at it, not even the untargeted audiences, unless of course you reach the whole world manually handing over your website’s URL, which is impossible, more like searching for a needle in haystack. To cut long story short, you will need to practice basic SEO techniques so you could set the ball rolling and get started in reaching your target audience. Looking seriously into keywords, inbound links and competition are a great starting point.
Competition
The first important consideration should be competition. Keep in mind that the higher the competition for a particular keyword is, the tougher it will be for your website to outrank the already established and ranked websites that use the same keywords. A website that has a high page rank and many relevant back links, especially those coming from authoritative and popular websites within the same niche, will be tougher to outrank. With time however, and consistency in your SEO efforts, it is achievable.
Keywords
Keywords are the keys that will get you ranked by the search engine. Why? Because when an internet user keys in a keyword into the search engine search box, the results will display only the most relevant web pages based on the searched or used keyword. This therefore goes without saying that if you really want to boost your rankings, you should consider having your primary keyword well featured within your website i.e. in the URL, in the title, and in the body of the text. In other words, if your website deals with ‘link building services’ you should ensure that keyword phrase appears in the title, in the URL, and severally in the body. Even so, you should avoid over using the main keyword as it not acceptable in the industry. Just let it flow naturally.
Backlinks/ inbound links
These are another factor to give serious consideration. In bound links aka backlinks are basically links coming from another website to yours. The more backlinks you have the better for you. When you access reliable and credible back linking service producers, you will be guaranteed of quality back links. One thing though to keep in mind is that not all back links are the same. The best of course are those with the highest authority, which is based on how popular and relevant a website is.
